What’s that? You haven’t heard anything about VEVE? No worries, I got you and it is a message they instructed me to share with you. In their classic, "VEVE-WE SUCK" way of doing things, they addressed all of their users sounding exactly like a pissed off babysitter that hates kids. If you don’t need all of the details and just want the point, VEVE emailed all their users last night and said these things, in this order:
MARKETPLACE CLOSED @8am - NO TRADING FOR 3-ishhh HOURS?
WE KNOW WE DELAYED THE DROP A WEEK, SO WHAT?
UNFORTUNATELY WE ONLY HAVE 2D ARTWORKS
WE WON’T MENTION THE WORLD CLASS ARTISTS
OUR USERS ARE BAD GUYS, but JUST .01% STUPIDS
PLEASE SHARE OUR MESSAGE
But hey, at least they aren’t avoiding honest, awkward inquiries about why their NFT Marketplace STILL HAS NOT launched their press laden, FAMOUS NFT drop, 6 days after they should have and took all their pre-emptive glory with no guts/accountability, like JUICY DROPS. (We will address this at a later date, I promise.)
Lets just pretend for one minute, that you are an NFT artist, and you get a HUGE opportunity to sell your work on an NFT Marketplace that specializes in such things. Normally, you would be elated, ecstatic, excited and any other adjective that starts with E. UNLESS, you are informed by whatever booking agent represents you out east, tells you that VEVE is releasing your NFT’s. FML times 1000.
I received an email from VEVE last with an update about their “first 2D artworks to hit the VeVe platform (ever!)”. The subject line reads: “Suspending the Market During Tomorrow’s Rise of Ultraman Drop - Please Read”
First of all VEVE, we all already know you suck and now you suck more for that subject, but I will listen. VEVE proceeds to say a number of things in the email before they get to the point, and
this is the first sentence of the email: “It’s been one week since we delayed the drop to focus on..” The next paragraph states only, “Dropping tomorrow at 8am PST, we are excited to drop the first range of 2D artworks available on the platform, The Rise of Ultraman: Series 1.” The next paragraph again addresses taking the marketplace offline for “approximately” 3 hours, but the MONEY paragraph heading, which I LOVE and LOATHE SO MUCH, is this:
“Addressing Bad Actors in Market Auctions”. They state that “99.9% of users in App are acting in an honest and positive way." Why even address it, if the “bad actor” percentage is so low, bozo? I’m still waiting to hear about the legendary artists' drop tomorrow.
Then, FINALLY, the last statement: “Thank you all for your understanding, we look forward to releasing the first 2D artworks to hit the VeVe platform (ever!) and ask that you also share this message around.” Well, VeVe platform, I am sharing. YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG! I feel bad for the world class artists who are a part of this NFT Drop. I thought that the NFT Artists were the HIGHLIGHT of EVERY SINGLE NFT DROP. Are they not? Receiving an email that addresses me the way that VEVE addresses their users, is PATHETIC.
Last, I still paid them $100usd to purchase a Delorean, 3 weeks ago, didn’t get any Delorean but they happily took my USD and transferred it into some worthless cryptocurrency and I still have 100 of those shitty blue tokens that I can not use to buy anything new. Have a nice life VEVE.
If you would like to view the full VEVE email they sent me, please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org and I will happily forward you the email.
